As an accommodation option, Laborie Heritage Wine Estate offers so much more than (really beautiful) accommodation. Here’s why we think Laborie Estate should be your destination of choice:
Heritage
Laborie Estate, with its history dating back to 1691, is steeped in the rich cultural and winemaking heritage of the region. This heritage wine estate combines old-world charm with modern facilities.
Vineyards
While it may seem obvious, the vineyards themselves are spectacular. Being a heritage wine estate, the very vines are established and create vistas that inspire and calm at the same time. Children are invited to play in the play area located right next to the vines – a true wine country experience.
Speaking of history, our exquisite tasting venue, The Manor House, is the perfect setting for an exploration of Laborie wines. The venue is truly spectacular, with the Library room showcasing books dating back to … Charcuterie platters and beautiful views over the … mountains complete the experience. As a heritage wine estate, Laborie offers unique wine tasting experiences, allowing guests to explore over 300 years of winemaking expertise.
Opportunity for realigning yourself
One of the most-loved features about the estate is that one can arrive without a plan. It offers so much, that even if you just feel like getting out, having an ice-cream, or coffee, or a cold one, you can. With vineyards and views that just keep going, the opportunity for peace and laughter is right there.
Quickly becoming one of the Boland’s best, Stoep provides a culinary experience that focuses on local, sustainable and flavoursome food that is carefully prepared by Chef Llewellyn. Signature dishes include … and …. Stoep is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Standing separate from Stoep, Suzanne: Coffee to Cocktail allows for a completely different experience. Small plates, wine, cocktails, coffee, draughts and pizza is served “family” style. This encourages laughter, connection and shared experiences. We make sure to get your drinks to you first thing, and then encourage you to sit back, enjoy the vibe and order as you wish.
The best of local and beyond is brought to your doorstep at The Farm Grocer. The store’s philosophy is to bring the best of the Drakenstein to you. Artisanal breads, local and international wines, premium meat from the Boer and Butcher, fresh produce, treats and even ready-made meals, to name but a few, are available.
Laborie has elevated the picnic experience by offering picnics with gourmet-inspired dishes. Our guests are invited to pick a spot, albeit on the Werf Lawn, Manor House Lawn or between the vines and enjoy a picnic that ignites the culinary senses. We offer kiddies picnics, vegan and vegetarian options too. Guests are also welcome to top up and add to their baskets by popping in at The Farm Grocer.
The Avenue
The Avenue invites one to stroll, to take beautiful photos and dapple in the stream that forms the focal point. Children play with the stream for hours on end and trickling sounds of the stream create an ambiance that is uniquely ours.
Guests have access to various outdoor activities such as hiking and mountain biking trails, ideal for exploring the estate’s natural surroundings. Guests are welcome to visit the Experience Hub located on the premises to decide where and how (e-bike, bicycle or hike) they would like to go!
Get in touch with us so we can help you book your next visit. We look forward to hosting you.
